Alleged assassination: I’ve been vindicated-Gov Akpabio

Governor Godswill  Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State said he has been vindicated with the arrest and parade of five armed robbers by the state's security service, who attacked the office of the Director General of Umana Umana Campaign Organisation, Chief Sunny Udom.
 In a statement by the state’s information and communications commissioner, Aniekan Umanah, which was sent to 9ja conet, Akpabio said " I have been vindicated after a false and spurious allegation went spiral that the state government was responsible for the attack on the office of the former chairman of AKIIPOC, but the parade of five criminals who claimed and publicly admitted that they were armed robbers and not political assassins as claimed by Udom, has vindicated the state governor and government of having any link with the robbery attack."

 The release added that " Governor Akpabio as the leader of the state and a committed Christian will never contemplate taking or be part of any plan to terminate the life of a
 fellow human being, adding, let us not in the name of
 politics try to bring down people because power comes from God. I thank the security agency for rising to the occasion by ensuring that those involved in the robbery case were quickly apprehended."
 The office of Chief Sunny Udom in Uyo was attacked by gunmen but the attack was suddenly turned into a politically motivated assassination attempt on
 the life of Udom by the opposition in the state.

NUJ disowned Odimegwu Onwumere

The Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ has disowned one Odimegwu Onwumere recently arrested in Delta State for attempting to extort money from Governor Uduaghan through blackmail.

 Odimegwu who claims to be a journalist has been going round the country extorting money from top government functionaries, politicians and top industry players . His stock in trade is blackmail through a website being managed by Mascot Uzor kalu, Nnanna Kalu, Odiuko Eunice Kalu and Orji Uzor Kalu. The NUJ Asaba Branch, in a press statement today warned the general public to be weary of the likes Odimegwu and their blackmail threats.

NUJ insisted that it is doing everything possible to flush out fake journalists from their fold. The Union said that Odimegwu has defrauded a lot of politicians through threats of publishing stories that will damage their reputation. NUJ commended the police for arresting Odimegwu whom he described as a fraudster. The Union urged the police to ensure that Odimegwu and his sponsors are prosecuted.

The NUJ also used the opportunity to warned the general public against stories that are not verifiable especially those being peddled online by the likes of Odimegwu and others who see the social media as a means to become rich.

Okorocha is milking Imo dry, Ben Uwajimogu

Things have fallen apart, that seems to be the situation in Imo State as the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon Ben Uwajimogu at war with the State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. 9ja conet  learnt that the Governor is planning to impeach Hon. Uwajimogu who it was gathered is planning to join the PDP. The speaker is not happy with Okorocha whom he accused of running the State as his private estate. The speaker alleged that Okorocha style of governance is crude as he has no recourse to laid down procedures.

 For the first time, the speaker admitted that Imo is owing a lot of banks several billions as the governor is doing nothing with the funds instead he is awarding major contracts to himself through ROCHE GROUPS and his inlaw who is a serving commissioner. Speaking further the speaker stated that most contractors in the state are being owed while the governor is busy chasing shadows.

The Speaker also accused Governor Rochas of lying to the whole world and before Imolites that IMO State is the richest in the federation. A claim Rochas made during the IMO Freedom Day event in Owerrin recently.

The Speaker who said that he will go the whole hog to expose Rochas said that the governor bribed some members of the House to impeach his former deputy.

According to Uwajimogu the former deputy governor did not embezzle any money as confirmed by EFCC after their investigation of the case. Meanwhile the speaker has urged Imo people to remain calm as the House of Assembly will soon do what is expected of them.

The speaker also claimed that the allegation of corruption against him is false declared that governor Okorocha is a symbol of corruption and fraud. He stated that that governor is using Rochas foundation to steal imo blind. Okorocha has come to rescue his pocket and not imo, no wonder he is grabbing everything at sight. When contacted the SSA to the governor on media declined to speak on the issue.

BREAKING NEWS. Ezinne Madunagum, a 26 year old girl said to be a model from Anambra State has died mysteriously in a hotel room in Dubai where she is lodging with ex Abia Gov Orji Uzor Kalu. Reports reaching 9ja Conet said that Ezinne who is based in Lagos and a mistress of the former Gov, who left Nigeria few days ago with the PPA chieftain, slumped and died after several sex bouts with Ouk. As it is the former Gov has reported the incident to Dubai police even as he is being quizzed. It will be recalled that Kalus Mistress Masi died in a mysterious circumstances in his (Ouks) house in united states of America few years ago. Kalu was arrested and while his trial was on, he jumped bail. It was gathered that kalu is doing everything possible now to kill this story as he has detailed the editors of sun and new telegraphs to reach out to their colleagues in other newspapers with huge amounts .

EFCC To Resume Ouk's Trial Nkire

Former Chairman of PPA Chief Sam Nkire who recenty decamped to APC has called on EFCC to resume the trial of former Gov of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu for looting over 4b naira from the state treasury. Chief Nkire in a statement said that he is worried that a man like Kalu who is a symbol of corruption is busy making utterances that suggest that he Kalu ran a transparent govt as gov.  It in not a secret that Kalu looted Abia blind, used the money to set up his Slok Airline, Sun newspaper and other companies he added. Nkire who said he dumped PPA due to the over bearing attitude of Kalu and the Mother, described PPA as a vehicle without an engine.  Nkire said the past PPA chairmen like Clement Ebiri and Essien saw hell in the hands of Kalu and his family. He described Kalus attempts to join PDP and APC as laughable.  Who is he leaving PPA for Nkire queried. He pleaded with EFCC to quickly deal with the case against Kalu
